How IELTS Speaking is scored
An examiner scores your speaking on four equally-weighted criteria. Your Speaking band is their average, rounded to the nearest half band. Because all four count equally, the fastest gains usually come from lifting your weakest criterion — often Grammatical Range or Pronunciation.
